OWN SAILING METHODOLOGY

The NSA Sailing program is supported by Spanish Impulse, the first Spanish team to participate in the Youth America’s Cup, founders of the Spain SailGP Team and with a track record that includes several Olympic medals.

This unique project offers the possibility of combining a high performance sailing career – in Olympic and pre-Olympic classes – with elite academic training.

NSA’s methodology offers all the necessary tools for the integral development of the sailors. Through a structure that combines training and competitions, with physical, mental, nutritional and human preparation, led by top level professionals, in an environment of professional academic training.

WORK AREAS

Physical and mental preparation

Acquire the physical conditions and the right mental balance to achieve the best performance.

Ship Preparation

Development of materials to have a competitive boat at the starting line.

Fine-tuning

Improving the use of the boat's controls to be fast in all conditions.

Boat handling and maneuvering

Technification of tacks, gybes, buoy passes and boat control.

Starts

Development of starting methodology, accelerations and tools necessary to start the races.

Strategy

Planning of the regatta considering all the variables that come into play.

Tactics

Execution of the race plan and decision making.

Ship to ship

Improve performance when sailing close to other boats, and perfect moding in every situation.

Meteorology

Acquisition of basic knowledge of weather for its application in regattas.

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Treatment of injuries on and off the field.

NUTRITION

Advice, analysis and nutritional evaluation of athletes.

SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY

Psychological evaluation and monitoring of athletes in all areas.

The sailors will have the opportunity to compete throughout the season in a series of prestigious and internationally recognized international regattas. These competitions will allow them to compete against other top-level athletes, demonstrating their skills and consolidating their experience in a high-performance environment.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The sailors will participate during the season in various national regattas of great renown, where they will have the opportunity to test their skills and face the best competitors in the country. These competitions will allow them to stand out at the national level and continue to develop as athletes in a highly competitive environment.

REGIONAL COMPETENCES

The sailors will compete throughout the season in several important regional regattas, where they will be able to measure their talent and skills against other athletes in their area. These competitions will give them the opportunity to stand out in their region, strengthen their performance and continue advancing in their development.

FACILITIES

Nastic Sports Academy’s sailing training facilities are located at the prestigious Club Náutico Vilanova, just twenty minutes from our campus, which facilitates quick and convenient access for our athletes. This venue, chosen to host the preliminary regattas for the 2024 America’s Cup, offers state-of-the-art facilities, with modern infrastructures and first class equipment.

All of this has been specifically designed to support highly demanding training, guaranteeing the best conditions for the technical and physical development of our athletes. In addition, this unique and exclusive environment provides the perfect space to carry out the academy’s comprehensive sailing program, enhancing the performance and training of our students in a high-performance environment.
